The Best Chili

This chili is a family favorite all year round but even more popular in the colder months. It is kid friendly and amazing as leftovers or for those that love to meal prep.

It’s easy, delicious and super convenient for those that need a meal to set and forget.

When your 12-year-old asks you to make chili you know it’s a good recipe.

Here is what you will need:

  • Dutch oven, Crockpot or Instant pot
  • 96/4 lean ground beef
  • Bell pepper
  • Canned diced tomatoes
  • Rotel tomatoes (optional for extra heat)
  • Tomato paste
  • Canned pinto beans
  • Canned northern beans
  • Canned black beans
  • Canned no salt added corn
  • Kettle & Fire beef broth or beef broth of choice
  • Dak’s Spices Taco Knight or Taco seasoning of choice
  • Chili powder
  • Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • Dak’s Spices Nothin But Ranch or ranch seasoning of choice
  • Onion powder
  • Garlic powder
  • Dried oregano
  • Cumin
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Fresh cilantro (optional)
  • Fat free Kraft cheddar cheese (optional topping)

Here is how to make it:

  1.  If using an or instant pot or Dutch oven, brown the beef until cooked all the way through.
    1. If using a crockpot, sautรฉ beef in a pan and cook all the way through and then transfer cooked beef to crockpot
  2. Add the peppers (optional), beans, corn and tomato paste
  3. Stir until combined.
  4. Next add the beef broth and all of the spices.
  5. Mix until all combined.
  6. Season to taste with salt and pepper
  7. Set on low in the crockpot or instant pot for 4-6 hours.
    1. If using a Dutch oven keep on simmer
  8. Once ready to serve, season with salt and pepper to taste.
  9. Garnish as you wish and enjoy!

  • Strainer
  • Knife

Ingredients

  • 2 Pounds 96/4 lean ground beef
  • 1 Bell pepper Chopped fine
  • 1 15.5 oz. Pinto beans Drained & rinsed
  • 1 15.5 oz. Black beans Drained & rinsed
  • 1 15.5 oz. Northern beans Drained & rinsed
  • 2 15.25 oz. Canned corn (no salt added) Not drained
  • 2 14.5 oz. Diced tomatoes Not drained
  • 1 Can Rotel tomatoes Drained
  • 8 oz. Tomato paste in tube or can
  • 1 Cup Beef broth 1 tsp Beef bouillon with hot water mixed
  • 3 TBSP Dark chili powder
  • 1 TBSP Cocoa powder
  • 2 TBSP Dak's Nothin But Ranch seasoning or McCormick seasoning
  • 1 TBSP Onion powder
  • 1 TBSO Garlc powder
  • 2 tsp Oregano
  • 1 TBSP Cumin
  • 2 TBSP Dak's Taco Knight seasoning or Taco seasoning of your choice
  • Salt & Pepper to taste

GARNISH

  • 1/2 Cup Fresh cilantro Chopped
  • Cheese to garnish

Instructions

  • In a pan or Instant pot, brown beef until cooked all the way through. I use the saute setting on the instant pot.
  • Add the peppers, canned goods, tomato paste and stir.
  • Next add the beef broth , all of the spices and stir.
  • Season with salt & pepper to taste.
  • Set on low slow cooker setting for 4-6 hours.
  • Once ready to serve. Season with salt and pepper to taste again then toss in the fresh cilantro.
  • Garnish with cheese and serve with your choice of bread or corn bread.
