Basil & Spinach Pesto

Who doesn't love pesto? Its such a wonderful thing! The only thing i dont enjoy is the amount of oil and nuts that are usually in a standard pesto recipe. So i made a nice lightened version with some veggies snuck in for good measure!

  • Food processor


  • 3 Cups Fresh Basil
  • 8 Ounces Fresh Spinach
  • 1/4 Cup Walnuts
  • 1/4 Cup Minced garlic
  • Zest of one lemon
  • Juice on one lemon
  • 1 tsp Avocado oil
  • 1 Oune Freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste


  • Combine everything into a food processor or blender and season with salt and pepper to taste


This recipe yeilds 2 Cups
2 Cups – 10 WW POINTS
1 Cup – 5 WW POINTS
1/2 Cup – 3 WW POINTS
1/4 Cup – 1 WW POINT

    Would the recipe still work without the nuts? My husband is allergic to tree nuts.

        He can eat peanuts so just tree nuts.

        Ok! You could add a few peanuts , or maybe even some nutritional yeast if you have it ☺️
