SUPER lean ground turkey and chicken can get super dry and it is also extremely bland if you DO NOT add a bunch of seasonings. Other than that, it is great and makes for an awesome zero WW points and low calorie option.
Garlic and onion powder are a must in A LOT of my recipes.
I use Dak’s Taco Knight or Dak’s Street Taco seasoning but if you do not have those you can use whatever taco seasoning you would like. If you would like to try Dak’s Spices click HERE and use code CHEFALLIE for a discount.
Another great seasoning to always have on hand especially with a Mexican and or Tex-Mex vibe recipes
Another great seasoning that I use on A LOT of things. If you do not have this, you can just use some Italian seasoning, Oregano or just leave it out.
This is a SUPER spicy seasoning but a great one. If you do not have this you can use cayenne instead.
Hidden Valley ranch seasoning I get in bulk from the wholesale stores since I use it often in recipes and it adds great flavor.
Salt and pepper to taste
Here is what I add to the burger patty for extra flavor and volume.

You can use whatever cheese you want. but this one works out great for the WW community and for the lower calories.
Nonfat Greek yogurt helps with keeping the ground turkey moist and not dry out during the cooking process.
You can leave the cilantro out if you do not like it, but I LOVE it!
Here is how to make it:
- Preheat the air fryer or oven to 390 degrees.
- In a large bowl add the ground turkey/chicken.
- Add all of the seasonings, rotel, black beans, yogurt, cheese and cilantro.
- Mix until combine but make sure to NOT over mix. That’ll create a dry and tough burger.
- Divide into 4 even burger patties.
- Place onto a greased air fryer tray or basket.
- Spray the top of the burger patties with cooking spray.
- Place into the air fryer for 10-15 minutes (flipping halfway through and spraying opposite side).
- Take out at 165 degrees and let rest.
- Add cheese if you’d like and place back into the air fryer to melt
- Add your choice of toppings and bread/bun and enjoy!
