Jalapeno Popper Tuna Salad
This was something I have been wanting to make. You can certainly use chicken instead of the tuna from the can but personally, I love tuna and especially the brand Wild Planet.
It is also more convenient to have a can of tuna on hand to make this rather than having to cook chicken. You can certainly use chicken in a can for this but try the tuna it is delicious.
The entire recipe is 3 WW and 405 calories or split it into two portions for 2 WW and 202 calories.
This make great for meal prep, add to a salad, throw onto some bread or even make a tuna melt with it. Either way, you are going to LOVE it.
Here is what you need:
- Wild Planet albacore wild tuna
- Non-fat Greek yogurt
- Jalapeno
- Hidden Valley ranch seasoning
- Oscar Mayer center cut bacon
- Fat free cheddar cheese
- Scallions
- Salt
- Pepper
- Dak’s Green Zest, or Italian seasoning
- Garlic powder
- Onion powder
This has been my absolute favorite brand for tuna in a can. It is delicious and sustainably pole & like caught with 100% PURE tuna & sea salt. It is a tad more expensive than other brands but TOTALLY worth every penny.
Jalapeno makes this dish so make sure you like spicy and if you do not, just add what you can as far as spice.
Garlic powder and onion powder are two seasonings that are ALWAYS in our pantry for seasonings.
If you do not have Dak’s Green Zest, then use Italian seasoning. If you’d like to try Dak’s Green Zest that I HIGHLY recommend trying, use code CHEFALLIE at Dak’s Spices.
This is my favorite seasoning I use for a lot of things, especially tuna or chicken salad recipes. Super convenient and adds A LOT of flavors.
Always salt and pepper to taste.
This is the brand I use for fat free cheeses. You can have an entire 1/2 cup for 1 WW.
This or Aldi brand I use for center cut bacon strips. You can have 2 slabs of this brand Oscar Mayer for only 2 WW.
Here is how to make it:
- Cook the bacon and set aside to cool.
- In a bowl take the tuna and put into a bowl. No need to drain the Wild Planet brand.
- Slice the jalapeno top off, slice in half, remove seeds and membranes then chop super fine.
- Add the chopped jalapeno to the bowl (more or less depending on how spicy you like it).
- Add the seasonings and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Next add the non-fat Greek yogurt and cheddar cheese.
- Chop the scallions and onions. Add them into the bowl.
- Once bacon is cooled off, chop and add to the bowl.
- Eat right away or place into the fridge for later.
