When I think of Thanksgiving or the holidays I think of traditions and one of those traditions at the dining table is always the good old classic green bean casserole.
My Lightened Green Bean Casserole is just that, lightened up from the original one we all know. You either love it like me or hate it. Either way this one is here for those that would love to make a lightened up version.
Lightened Green Bean Casserole
Green bean casserole is a nostalgic dish at our holiday tables! The good old canned green bean casserole is what I'm talking about and that is what I made just a lighter version.

Equipment
- Casserole dish
- Oven
- Can opener
- Foil
Ingredients
- 3 14.5 oz. Canned french style green beans Drained
- 1 10.5 oz. Campbell's 98% fat free cream of mushroom soup
- 1/3-1/2 Cup Unsweetened almond milk Less almond milk, thicker sauce
- 1/2 tsp Dried thyme
- 1/4 tsp Garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp Onion powder
- Salt & Pepper to taste
- 6 TBSP French fried onions
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375
- In a casserole dish place the drained green beans in
- In a separate bowl put the cream of mushroom soup in with the almond milk, thyme and season with salt & pepper to taste
- Pour over the green beans and toss lightly
- Cover with foil and place into the over for 40 minutes
- Take out, uncover and place back into over for 15 minutes
- Once out sprinkle the french fried onion over the top and place back into the oven for about 5-8 minutes and enjoy
